About Us

IPI (Instant Property Information) was started in November 2007 as a colaboration between Douglas Haig (of Seraph Estates) and Lloyd Watkin (of Evilprofessor Designs). Seraph Estates were looking for a new way to approach their customers and increase their sales conversion rates.

With both sides being technologically minded it seemed that a gap in the market was spotted and a small team was gathered to start creating the systems required to perform the required tasks. At the same time much research was done into marketing and the legal requirements for a service such as this. We have talked to several government organisations as well as solicitors, marketing experts, designers, and collated several surveys on the public's SMS/text message habits.

In December 2007 initial tests were carried out with a small number of estate/letting agents in the South Wales area to determine the popularity and potential success of such a system. Full system launch was scheduled for early in 2008.

Company Aims

From the outset IPI set out to be strongly focussed on its customers (agents) and clients (public) needs and requirements. The text message market works on small margins and therefore we need to create a feeling of trust in order to survive and grow.

For our agents we want to provide as many tools and as much information as possible to increase sales conversions as well as respond to needs in the ever changing property market. We plan to increase the number of services constantly as well as improve on old ones at the same time. Our core strategy at present is to keep the core services free for agents and only introduce fees for premium services where these costs can not be recovered elsewhere.

For the public we need to create a strong sense of trust, otherwise our services will not be used, this is why we created our code of conduct to which all of our agents must adhere. Any agents found to not be keeping to the code are blacklisted from our systems and therefore lose out on the immense opportunities that they represent.

We also feel the need to educate the public about our services so that when they are seen on property boards or in property mail advertisements they know instantly how the service works and that there is no worry about becoming involved in expensive and/or subscription text services.

Future Aims

The whole team is very excited about this project hence the number of hours that have been put into the system in a relatively short space of time. We believe there are many avenues for future expansion and our systems have been built so as to allow this with relatively small amounts of effort. We will endeavour to consult with our agents as much as possible listening to their needs and views on new services. This is the space to watch...
