New Web Host
13th August 2008
We've switched to a new web host (did you notice any change? Thought not ;)). We've moved our property SMS service over to a new server that will allow for lots of growth in the future.
Our instant property via sms/text message software is now hosted with UKFast one of the top hosts in the UK and winner of several awards for their levels of service.
We're investing in these new technologies to ensure our service is the quickest and most reliable service out there for your agency.
FREE Board Management Software
11th August 2008
As a result of feedback from our agents we have now developed board management software into the instant property information by sms/text message system.
An email is sent to your board agent each evening with a list of instructions for the next day. We will soon develop a management system for board agents themselves to streamline the entire process making it quicker and easier to manage your property boards.
For more information on the FREE board management software please see, FREE board management software.
Instant Property Information on Facebook
9th August 2008
As part of our effort to educate the public we've put ourselves on facebook the most popular social networking tool online! Using facebook to promote property information by SMS directly targets the demographic that are likely to use the service at first.
Instant Property Information on Facebook!
Our aim is to create brand awareness across the country so we're starting online before moving on to more traditional advertising media :)
Call Me Back Text
7th August 2008
As a result of our user testing we have added a new feature to the texting service.
If you want to allow someone to request a call back then you simply add the following code to your advertising media (be is brochures, business cards, etc):
sale [AGENCY REF] or rent [AGENCY REF]
For example,
sale IPI or rent IPI
The customer will then receive a text message back saying thank you for the request and that they will be contact in the near future. This service is charged against your SMS credits and not charged back to the customer.
Seeking Advice
5th August 2008
This week has mainly involved discussions with solicitors, business advisors, accountants, government offices to make sure that everything is ready for launch, and that all requirements are covered. Its been an interesting week with lots of new information and ideas.Validating and Accessibility
3rd August 2008
We strongly believe in creating valid and accessible websites so much of today was spent making sure that our site passed both the W3C Markup Validation and W3C CSS Validation. With both of these out of the way our next task was to make sure that our site reached at least grade 'A' for accessibility. This was achieved although we'd really like to get to at least 'AA' standard in the future :)The Documentation never ends!
1st August 2008
Another day today getting the documentation and content for the website written. The site is definately "filling out" but processes like this always seem to take forever. After several weeks of coding it is now also clear that several of the team are much more competant at writing in PHP than they are at writing in English :)
Still we're getting there, setting up ready for a much bigger trail with many more agents involved than in our first round of testing
Writing up some documentation... Zzz!
30th July 2008
Its all well and good that our team of programmers have notebooks full of scribbles about how the various input and output systems work but without telling our agents there wouldn't be much point in having them. So today the team sat down and wrote out the integration documentation for the site. We had several shouting sessions and lots of laughs but we got there in the end. Writing documentation has never been the most exciting things in the world but its somethng that just has to be done. Anyway we hope its very useful and not as boring as it was to write, as always any questions please feel free to get in touch.

Having the best to provide the best
28th July 2008
One thing we've concentrated on with the IPI system is building a modular system so that new features can easily be 'plugged-in' to our software. Our aim is to build the information and services provided to our agents over time, in fact we have many exciting ideas on the board its just a case of restraining ourselves until the core system has enjoyed the switch-on to the big wide world!
Anyway.... we've started the next step in our system build... we're improving the backend systems, we want to have as much information as possible available to us (and in a quick easy form) so that we can best help our agents improve their services and at the end of the day improve sales (which is why we're all here
)
